A serial killer is loose within the walls of an up-scale retirement home. As dead bodies turn up in curious places and under suspect circumstances, Lily Lawrence, disgruntled resident of Journey's End, questions the coroner's calls of accidental deaths. A former assistant to a private investigator, she is convinced the deaths are homicides and sets out to find the person responsible. With a short list of suspects capable of committing murder and no motive or clues, she enlists her former employer, Sam Levine, for help. After embarking on a quest to find the predator, they uncover not only the killer, but one of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted. Written with wry humor, Murder by Wheelchair is a fast, fun, enjoyable romp inside a retirement home through the eyes of a 70-year-old woman who discovers she still has what Sam calls "instincts like a bloodhound."
