High-octane hooch, happy boaters, and a mechanic who thinks he's saving the planet. Welcome to Cedar Key, where the exhaust fumes are 180 proof. Gumbo Malone , ex-corporate middle manager turned accidental Private Investigator , thought he'd seen every flavor of Florida weird . He was wrong. When local grease monkey Cletus McCready invents a revolutionary "Bio-Solvent" engine cleaner, the results are miraculous. Old outboards purr like kittens, the fishing fleet is moving at record speeds, and the boat captains are unusually... cheerful. In fact, the whole marina is harmonizing to sea shanties and hugging pelicans. The secret? Cletus's eco-friendly formula is actually 180-proof corn whiskey , distilled in a repurposed crematorium furnace. Moon Shine Marina is a laugh-out-loud Florida comedy mystery perfect for fans of Tim Dorsey , Carl Hiaasen , and Dave Barry . If you like quirky characters, sun-soaked settings, and mysteries that could only happen in the Sunshine State, you'll love this latest installment in the Gumbo Malone series.
