Miracle in Sicily: A World War II Story
An order was given. Death was certain. But fate had other plans.
In the waning years of World War II, a group of Italian soldiers—including a young man named Rosario—is captured by Nazi forces in Sicily. Without trial or explanation, they are ordered into a pit. The implication is clear. But just as the execution seems inevitable, something extraordinary happens: the German commander changes his mind—and spares their lives.
No one ever explained why.
Based on a true story passed down through generations, Miracle in Sicily is a moving account of survival, fate, and the small moments of humanity that flicker even in the darkest times. After the war, Rosario rebuilt his life in a changed Italy, while one of his sons later emigrated to San Jose, California—carrying the legacy of that miraculous day with him.
This unforgettable World War II story is a tribute to resilience, the mystery of mercy, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.
Perfect for readers of Unbroken, Beneath a Scarlet Sky, and The Things Our Fathers Saw—this is a story that will stay with you long after the final page.
