Minnie Miñoso arrived in the major leagues in 1949 as the first Afro-Latino player in big league history, and when the White Sox acquired him in 1951, he became Chicago's first Black player and the electrifying centerpiece of the "Go-Go" White Sox dynasty of the 1950s. The Cuban Comet hit .326 in his rookie season with the Sox, led the AL in stolen bases and triples three times, and earned 13 All-Star selections and three Gold Gloves across a career that ultimately earned him a place in Cooperstown via the Hall of Fame Class of 2022.
