Mellis Aforethought is a thrilling murder-mystery set in the real-life suffolk village of Mellis in the 1920s, written by best-selling author Merv Lambert.True to the time period during which the novel is set, an underlying sense of class snobbery affects the village folk, with the attitudes of the well-to-do towards the less affluent apparent from the very start.Could the entire population of the village be involved in the nefarious goings-on? Are they all plotting secretly against each other?Despite the murderous themes, the author manages to find humour amongst the darkness, with situations both domestic and sinister given an amusing bent. Can you figure out whodunnit? Is it possible to determine good vs evil? Will you understand the local dialect? It all started the day my dad left the army...
