Ellyn Mayfair thought her chance for an emotionally fulfilling relationship with the long ago love of her life had passed her by until something magical happened on the eve of her 70th birthday. The magic occurred when she took the risk to say how she had always really felt, something she had believed for a lifetime she shouldn’t say out loud. Telling a guy you wanted him in high school was ill advised, she was told. But life’s capricious sense of humor brought Ellyn and her love back together with long-denied passion. Each of the 42 poems in this collection reflects some part of their story, be it memories of long ago, or emotional and logistical challenges of reconnecting in the 21st century's pandemic era.
