The book covers the high school years of the author 1957-1960 at Belmont School and chronicles his struggles to fit into a new school and new town. Read along as he grows from a gangly unsure 14 year old to a more mature and more self confident 17 year old going off to college. He transitions from an outsider to one of the insiders by his senior year and becomes actively involved in sports and school social activities. The reader will witness meanness, greed, envy and pride balanced against diligence, kindness, patience and some humility by the cast of character encountered during these high school years. There were also risky behavior that could have had disastrous consequences but through it all the author and his friends survived and prospered.
