"Let His Light Shine Through" describes Christian spirituality in light of the theological virtues of faith, hope, and love and the Beatitudes found in the Gospel of Matthew. Spiritual freedom is the fruit of a lifetime journey during which the Spirit continuously purifies and recenters the believer's affectivity in accord with God's will, resulting in the death of the false self and the birth of the true self. Prayer opens the way to this transformation.
Consequently, a variety of prayer methods are explored such as meditating and contemplating the Gospels, the Ignatian examen of consciousness and centered prayer. Discernment of spirits and making decisions in the Lord are briefly treated. Other dynamics of prayer are also considered, such as coping with aridity and dryness, the value of repetition in prayer, dialogue with the Lord, and doing a brief journal review after praying.
Throughout the book, many stories, some from the author's own experiences, are used to illustrate the points being treated.
