U.S. Navy Captain and former Commanding Officer Stew Fisher has the wisdom of years of experience leading men and women in large organizations. In this book, he highlights some of the great leaders of history who have inspired him: Jesus, Abraham Lincoln, Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., and many others who brought about great change to society through their own ability to lead. Stew Fisher is still a student of leadership and this book will benefit others with his own experiences and studies. It starts with self-mastery: striving for excellence, not perfection. He then walks the reader through how to improve on personal interactions and then extending that to team leadership. Finally, he concludes with leaving a legacy and a legion of future leaders. Legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, who wrote the Foreword before he passed away, had this to say about Leave a Legacy
"Stew reveals the secrets great leaders have known throughout the ages: Inspiring leadership comes from the heart, not the head. Too often, however, the leadership we see being used today focuses on 'management techniques' and totally misses what true leadership really is. Leave a Legacy is a timeless and wonderful book that you will want to keep on the shelf and refer to often. It explores the very same principles I used in my long coaching career at UCLA, and more importantly, as a father and a husband."
