In Amanda Pippel's first poetry anthology "Late Nights and Summer Storms" she explores the competing yet shockingly similar subjects of love and sorrow. Her shown duality and unique expression of emotions helps readers to relate to her poems while pulling their own meanings from the lines. As a new author her young age gives her a unique perspective on the subjects of the poems and offers a continuing theme of growth and discovery through the pages. From her bright themes in "summer sun" to her depictions of darkness in "night" she really explores the topics she refers to in her title. Filled with questions, her poetry is open ended and leaves the reader wondering. Ultimately, her work helps readers to come up with their own answers.
