This book is also about what it takes to build a life in coffee. I take you behind the counter and into the daily lives of baristas and café owners, where long hours, early mornings, and an unwavering commitment to quality shape everything they do. I share the discipline, skill, and resilience needed to thrive in this industry, along with my own experiences in the highstakes world of barista championships, where precision, storytelling, and taste all come together in a matter of minutes. A big part of my journey has been Dutch Colony Coffee Co., where I became a copartner. I take you behind the scenes of building this coffee brand, from developing a roasting philosophy to training a team to creating a space where people come together over a shared love for coffee.
