Kinds of Snails in North America is a brief, whimsical poem by Carolyn Brooke Fahrner, playfully illustrated by Evan M. Paris. It explores the meaning of molluskness, and works to deconstruct the stigmatized image of the snail. Unique and fun, Kinds of Snails in North America provides insight into the eccentric escargot, engendering smiles. Is it for children? Yes, indeed, of any age! True to title, the book has eighteen funny illustrations of types of snails you never imagined! The brown snail, the smart snail, and the unsure snail are depicted with charm and elan. The perfect bathroom book and the inspired coffee table book, Kinds of Snails in North America delights on every page. This is not a nature book; rather, it is a poem with amusing drawings!
