Buildings collapsed and streets crumbled, trapping and killing hundreds of thousands of Haitians in the 2010 earthquake. The world watched in horror, gripped by the devastation that unfolded. As the shaking stopped, brave heroes were called in to locate and rescue. These men and women risked their lives, entering into the rubble to save as many victims as possible. Author Douglas Dietrichson, a medical specialist and former member of the elite Virginia Urban Search and Rescue Team, arrived in Haiti with his team less than twenty hours after the quaking stopped. Valiantly entering unstable ground that still echoed with aftershocks, Doug and his team risked their lives to save others. In his debut novel, Dietrichson masterfully entwines stories with true inspirational events of rescue and restoration in this compelling account of search and recovery in the aftermath of one of the deadliest earthquakes.
