A debt of gratitude. A forgotten promise. A journey that changes everything.
Joe Spotted Bear rides into Sweet Grass Valley to repay the Christian man who once saved his father-only to find him gone. Refusing to let the debt die, Joe turns to the man's son, Victor, setting in motion a story of quiet sacrifice on a struggling ranch during the Great Depression. When money is scarce but compassion runs deep, an unexpected act of kindness begins to ripple outward. In the spirit of the Good Samaritan, what was meant for evil is turned to good-and a reluctant hero discovers a treasure far greater than gold.
