Liz Taggart lands a permanent job after decades of stringing together a living with everything from dog walking to serving burgers. Her quiet existence is fodder for rumors that are put to rest when a school buddy becomes a regular at the historic Royce’s Tavern. A diary found in the basement of the building reveals connections unknown to her.
Newly divorced, Will Powell confides in Liz each time he orders a beer. Their friendship grows deeper with each conversation. He has loved her since they were teenagers and is careful not to scare her away, especially when his ex-wife shows up.
Liz and Will have their own baggage that needs to be put to rest so they can move on with their lives. But will they grow apart instead of finding a way to intertwine their pasts without judgment?
Previously published in Legends of Havenport.
