"I'm Dreaming of a Brown Christmas" is a beautiful re-imagining of the classic song "White Christmas", but as seen through the eyes of a young African-American child living in the city. Adorned with foil stamped silver snowflakes on the cover and photo-realistic drawings, "I'm Dreaming of Brown Christmas" is a tale that starts in backseat of his father's car as he observes decorated brownstones filled with families enjoying hot cocoa and treats. As he continues his journey, we catch glimpses of other heart-warming images: grandparents reading their grandchildren holiday stories, siblings watching the parade on television, and even a young soldier who braves the storm to be home with her family.
This book shows people of all ages and all shades, celebrating being together and celebrating the reason for the season: the birth of Jesus Christ and can be a best selling holiday book for many Christmases to come.
But the spirit of Christmas goes beyond religion and "I'm Dreaming of Brown Christmas" is a book that can be enjoyed by anyone who loves to celebrate spending time with family and friends, holding the ones you love close, and embracing spirit of giving and loving others.
