It's a story about survival. About being a rascal who feared no one, then being struck down by a rare and cruel disease that dragged me to the edge where suicide wasn't just considered, it was planned. I'd settled the reasons for my own demise in my head. I was calm. Ending the pain felt like the easiest option for everyone. But something shifted. I realized this book had to be more than just my story. It had to speak for others for the tough men, the good men, the ones who've battled depression and suicidal thoughts in silence. Men who spent their lives believing that talking about mental health made you weak. It doesn't. It takes a tough bastard to fight depression. To speak up. To help themselves and to help others. Tough guys do talk.
