Meet Wakia. the corn-husk doll whose reflection once shone brighter than campfires. Her creator spun her from corn husks to guide children through the old ceremonies, but the more gifts she was give, the louder the whisper: "Look at me." She cannot help but preen in mirrors of water. Journey with Wakia to the edge of pride, where beauty itself may vanish, only to find the children's hearts speak louder than any face ever could in this picturebook.
