Pursuing karate when a teen is one thing. Pursuing karate when 75 years old is a whole different matter. The author did both. HOW ISSHINRYU KARATE CAN WORK FOR YOU reveals one person's journey in the martial arts at the bookends of his life, the mental, physical, and spiritual challenges overcome, and specific benchmarks for pursuing karate at any age. Historical, psychological, and physiological issues are addressed revealing the dynamic wholeness that can be achieved through Isshinryu karate training. Training under two different Isshinryu masters two generations apart, one from the West coast who studied directly under the founder of Isshinryu karate from Okinawa and the other from the East coast, the author traces and analyzes the healing of his early life trauma and the reason for many of his adult successes through his journey with Isshinryu karate.
