"There are three types of horseshoers: the quick, the beat-up, and the dead." Horse Sense: 60 Years of Nailing Shoes is an honest, down-to-earth recollection of a hardworking man's passion. Ed Schoening started shoeing horses in 1958, and his ability to change horses' lives over the years has accumulated into a collection of life-changing stories. His career provides a never-before insight into how horseshoeing has changed over the years and where it is today. His knowledge of specialty horseshoes, horse conformation, and old-time remedies has distinguished Ed a legend of the Texas Hill Country and beyond state lines. His journey is sure to warm the hearts of not only horse people, but also anyone who believes in making a difference.
