Excerpt from History of the Dore Family It has been the aim of those interested to make the history as complete as possible. This has been a difficult task, and, owing in no small degree to the lack of co-operation of some members of the family, a great deal of obtainable matter has not found its way into the work. The author will welcome any corrections or additions which may serve perhaps to aid in the production of a more complete record at some time in the future. In conclusion, the author desires to thank all who have in any way contributed toward our knowledge of the Dore family. He especially wishes to acknowledge the value of information supplied by Mrs. W. F. Smith, of Hartland, Maine, and to hope that this little book may prove of some value to those It most closely touches. Walter H. Dore.
