Sixteen year old Jessica is thrown into a marriage of convenience with the sixteen year old rich, handsome and insufferably arrogant Heir Elect (in waiting) Joshua Cartel. The marriage has been arranged to allow the title of Heir Elect to pass to Joshua, but Jessica is learning that the transfer of title is not as simple as it had initially appeared, and that Joshua's evil Uncle Glen Taylor is bent and determined to ensure that Joshua does not obtain the Heir Elect title. Now, Jessica finds herself in the midst of a battle between the two men, where her life or death appears to be the tip upon which either man's success turns. The question is, can Jessica depend on Joshua to protect her, and hasn’t he proven himself to be as evil as his uncle? Was it possible to find a happy ending in the midst of such confusion?
