Nestled in the snowy peaks of the former Kootenays, the residents of Timba live in peace and balance. With a blend of old technology and new they have little to worry about as they go about their lives. The Wardens keep them safe by patrolling the forest and peaks, but when a new danger emerges from the depths of the forest, their peace is shattered. In order to protect Timba, Fiann and her fellow Wardens will have to travel far through the frozen forests and peaks. Humans weren't the only species to adapt to the never-ending winter, the forests grow stronger than ever, reclaiming their place; and the animals have grown fiercer and larger as the human population dwindled. The predators of the mountains have retaken their place at the top of the food chain, and not all predators are animals.
