A mountain fortress. A creepy masterpiece. Thirteen people with something to hide.
Criminology student Theo Chan has learned one important lesson: there’s no such thing as a simple job. So when he and his enigmatic employers, Primrose and Teebin, are sent to a remote mountain lodge to quietly prevent an art theft, Theo knows trouble is inevitable.
Their task? Protect The Dead Man’s Heart —a priceless sculpture shrouded in ghost stories since its mysterious creation. The guests have gathered for a high-stakes auction. Then a snowstorm seals the mountain. And before the night is over, their host is dead. With no way down and no police in sight, Theo must navigate shifting alliances, feuding heirs, old grudges, and carefully staged alibis inside a house designed to conceal secrets.
As corpses and clues pile up around him and as his loyalty to his employers breaks down, Theo must piece together the truth before the killer disappears into the storm … or strikes again.
Perfect for fans of classic whodunits, locked-room mysteries, and amateur sleuths in way over their heads.
