Cysteine is a semi-essential amino acid that we must get from our diets. But when dietary intake of the amino acids needed for our bodies to make cysteine is low, taking cysteine in supplemental form is critical. N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine, or NAC, provides a direct source of cysteine and is known most notably for its ability to support immune health. NAC is required to make glutathione, one of our body’s most important antioxidants. It can help to relieve respiratory conditions such as bronchitis by reducing inflammation and loosening mucous that can constrict air passages. Supplemental NAC is traditionally sourced from duck feathers, however Health First NAC is a completely vegan formula sourced from non-GMO corn! Our formula provides 500 mg of NAC and it's gluten free, making it the ideal choice for vegans, vegetarians and anyone with gluten sensitivities! Each vegetable capsule contains N-acetyl-L-cysteine (plant-sourced): 500 mg Microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide, rice extract, rice hull powder (Oryza sativa), gum arabic, sunflower oil, hypromellose (vegetable capsule). All Health First products are free from GMOs, artificial colours and artificial flavours. Adults (18 years and older) - Take 1 capsule, once daily with food. Do not use if you are taking antibiotics or nitroglycerin. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney stones.
