Excerpt from Harris Genealogy: A History of James Harris, of New London, Conn;, And His Descendants; From 1640 to 1878; With an Appendix Containing Brief Notices of Several Other Early Settlers of New England of the Name of Harris The work will be found more full and complete in dates of births, marriages, deaths, and other details, than most similar works; and to perfect these, has been a great additional labor. Many of the family, not fully appreciating the importance of these details, have not given them in the records sent, notwithstanding the explicit requests in my letters and circulars; and in very many instances have reported names merely, omitting all dates; and it has been only by subsequent and oft-repeated explicit solicitations, that I have been able, at last, to Obtain them. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in our edition. We do, however, repair the vast majority of imperfections successfully; any imperfections that remain are intentionally left to preserve the state of such historical works.
