First published in 2013, Farwest is a science fiction epic, set in the dark and bleak, not-too-distant future, where everything is controlled by megalithic Corprigovernments, and human life is seen as a necessary, but expendable, resource
Unfolding mostly at the very edge of the known and mapped universe, this is the story of the Farwest mining outpost, and of its current skeleton crew of roughnecks and desperates. Led by site foreman, Derek Miller, the crew bores into the planetoid's surface, in search of the newly discovered mineral, xenoradium
In addition to dealing with squabbles and dust-ups between the members of his own crew, Derek is forced manage a growing tension between the miners and the United Council Guard, the onsite military presence stationed at the site to protect the interests of the Corprigovernments
Remotely monitoring the storm of political turmoil back on Earth, which could potentially cause serious, if not deadly conditions at the site, while trying to track an unknown, deep space object that seems to be heading directly for the planetoid, Derek must find a way to save his crew, his site, and his own sanity
