She hadn't stopped believing in God. She just hadn't felt Him in a long time.
To everyone at her church, Grace Miller is the "strong one." She is the girl who never misses a Sunday, the leader of the Bible study, and the dependable smile in every ministry meeting. But behind the armor of her service, the light has gone out. Grace is running on fumes, trapped in a performance-based faith that leaves her feeling numb, mechanical, and deeply alone.
When the exhaustion finally becomes a wall she can no longer climb, Grace is forced to confront the word she has spent her life fearing: Depression.
In the quiet of her breaking point, she discovers she isn't in a spiritual desert because of a lack of faith, but because of a lack of rest. Through the story of the prophet Elijah, Grace uncovers a side of God she never knew—a God who doesn't meet the weary with a lecture, but with a nap and a snack.
Faith on Empty is a tender, intimate journey through spiritual burnout and the beauty of emotional redemption. It explores the vital difference between spiritual fervor and true trust, proving that love can exist even in the numbness. If you have ever felt like a fraud in the pews or feared that your tiredness was a sin, this book is your permission to stop running.
Discover a God who is gentle, lowly, and entirely unafraid of your weakness. Grace wasn't losing her faith; she was finally learning how to rest inside it.
