The series Kalām Studies covers a variety of topics, beginning with the formative period and ending with modern Kalām. It focuses on concepts such as the unity of god, prophecy, life after death, theories of understanding the cosmos, or questions of ethics and free will, but also on the interdisciplinarity that characterizes the post-classical period (1100–1900). In modern Kalām, subjects such as individuality, self-decision, freedom of opinion and of religion will be discussed among others. The series accepts works from Islamic theology, Islamic studies and connected disciplines, either in English or in German. Series Editors: Maha El Kaisy Friehmuth, Erlangen, Mansooreh Khalilizand, Münster, und Mira Sievers, Berlin.
