'Failed Times and Twisted Follies' is a collection of entertaining true-life stories in the life of one of Australia's adventurers, John Carr (1935-2021). Always striving for his next adventure and recognition, his wandering spirit takes him from Adelaide, South Australia to places many Australians never go. Each adventure is colored by the times he lived through, and the people he encountered. Winner of an Australian inventors TV show for his CARR-B-Q invention, a co-discoverer of Australia's richest uranium mine, 'El Sherana', a survivor of gold mining during Southern Rhodesia's brush war (in what is now called Zimbabwe), and one of the brave souls that strived to build the underground Manapouri Hydroelectric Power station in New Zealand.
