In this double origin story; it's the early 1970's and Abigail (a Thai elf doctor) and Steve (a human veteran of the Vietnam War) meet and fall in love in Bangkok. Meanwhile, in New York, butterfly-winged superhero Monarch is attacked by her arch-enemy. She's saved by a mysterious young woman named Lepidopterist but her so-called rescuer has a dark agenda all her own. Time passes and Abigail gives birth to Eve who will eventually emulate the biblical Eve in eating the forbidden fruit. Eve will never be an elf on a shelf. In fact, she will more likely end up slouching towards Bethlehem!
