French-language edition of the first book on architecture and urban design firms LABFAC and LIN and their cofounder Finn Geipel.   Finn Geipel is the co-founder of two architecture and urban design firms: LABFAC, based in Paris and operating between 1987 and 2001, and Berlin- and Paris-based LIN, operating since 2001. Their projects of varied scale with a planning and research focus on adaptable and integrative solutions for architecture and urban development always consider urban and ecological life cycles. LABFAC’s and LIN’s have been and continue to be closely accompanied by experts from other disciplines, such as climate and circular design, urban planning, economics, mobility, urban and landscape ecology, philosophy, art and cultural studies. Espaces , the French edition of the first monograph on the work of LABFAC, LIN and Finn Geipel features their key built and unrealized designs and research projects since 1985. The evolution of working methods and thematic and research focuses is explained and supported by rich visual material. Contributions by fellow architects and teachers as well as personal friends, such as Hashim Sarkis, Joseph Hanimann, Riken Yamamoto, and Bénédicte Savoy, offer a critical perspective on Geipel’s achievements in the context of current debates on architecture and urban design.
