“A lighthearted story that’ll leave you looking forward to the future.” — Intermission Magazine Life at Paradise Village Retirement Home is much what you'd expect: bridge nights, the occasional medical emergency, and even a little outdoor hanky-panky in the communal garden. When the spirited Doris Mooney arrives and strikes up an unlikely friendship with the reserved Ivy Hoffbauer, the two quickly become inseparable. Seeking to spice up the place, Doris soon takes it upon herself to play matchmaker between Ivy and Arthur Beech, a charming professor and amateur poet with only two years left to live. As Arthur pursues one last chance at love and Ivy learns to open her heart again, the three discover that life's great adventures may still lie ahead of them. Norm Foster is better than ever in this laugh-a-minute buddy comedy about friendship, love, and the courage to embrace new beginnings. Filled with Foster's trademark wit and warmth, Doris and Ivy in the Home is a touching reminder that some things only get better with age.
