This book presents a comprehensive exploration of the construct of personality through a variety of lenses, both in theory and clinical practice. Part I focuses on theory, presenting insights from the perspectives of anthropology, psychoanalysis, neuroscience, the neurodiversity paradigm, political empowerment, and Gestalt therapy. Part II focuses on the different dimensions of personality, each explored from everyday "normal" experience through to psychopathology and personality disorders, presenting socio-cultural, historical, and nosological considerations, illustrated by clinical cases. Part III concludes the book with further considerations and guidelines for therapists. With a broad theoretical base and clear clinical examples, this is key reading for all psychoanalysts, psychotherapists, and Gestalt therapists who wish to deepen their understanding of the role of personality.
