Devotions for Holy Communion is a book compiled by Edward Bouverie Pusey in 1883. It is a collection of prayers, meditations, and scripture passages meant to be used during the sacrament of Holy Communion. The book draws from various sources, including the Book of Common Prayer, the Bible, and other devotional texts. The devotions are organized into sections that correspond to different parts of the Communion service, such as the Confession, the Consecration, and the Communion itself. Pusey, a prominent Anglican theologian and leader of the Oxford Movement, intended the book to help Anglicans deepen their spiritual lives and more fully participate in the sacrament of Communion. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
