Coles Desecrations: A Collection of Poems by Jesse Van Horne at Village Green Shopping Centre in Vernon, BC

The artist as illuminer, the artist as hopelessly forlorn, lost, a portrait of the artist as conflicted, searching, longing. Jesse Van Horne thrills readers with Desecrations, a collection of poems that faces the darkness and the loneliness of human experience as it searches and probes the depths of the unconscious realm. However, he doesn't leave us stranded here, but embarks upon a path that leads back up to the light, and then back down again, which according to him is illustrative of the authentic human experience, minus the trappings of the Western, Christian dilemma wherein society has found itself perpetually waylaid, cut off from itself by the very dogmas it holds dear.
