Coles Deolali Days: Stories from a Boarding School at Village Green Shopping Centre in Vernon, BC

Deolali Days is a tender, nostalgic journey into the world of a 1960s Indian boarding school, where banyan trees watched over mischievous boys, stern headmasters softened with rare smiles, and humble figures—the gardener, the dhoban, the biscuit seller—became quiet heroes in a child’s imagination. Through a series of vivid vignettes, Satish brings to life the innocence, humour, and wonder of growing up in Barnes School, Deolali. These are not just schoolboy adventures, but windows into a vanished world—one where discipline met delight, and small acts of kindness lingered for a lifetime.
