A critical examination of decolonization in contemporary art museums. Nina Möntmann extends the decolonization debate to contemporary art institutions, arguing for a 'decentering' of Eurocentric cultural focus rooted in colonialism. Drawing on examples from anthropological museums and small-scale art spaces, she highlights the responsibility of museums to promote inclusivity and diversity. This book identifies the influence of anthropological museums and small art spaces on contemporary art museums, initiating a process of decentering.
