"Dandelions in December" is an extraordinary adventure in one woman's life...beginning with the loss of her 19-year old daughter, then through the trials and tribulations of nursing school, divorce, and finally into nursing home administration. Elaine Stubbs deftly weaves her story with humor and grace. This is a first person look at day-to-day life in nursing homes....The care...the love...and the laughter that must take place in order to remain sane. Meet a hungry alligator about to enjoy a dinner of aged meat (a nursing home resident). The gator is chased away by an administrator with a flapping red necktie and a paper stapler. You'll love the residents, George, who measures his daily success by the length of his bowel movement; and Robert, who holds up the village bank every afternoon.
