Simone Bradley knows there has to be more to life than heartache. After losing her job and failing at getting past her abandonment issues caused by her father, she takes action for a much needed change. Simone impulsively moves to Atlanta where she becomes 'Kayla' in an attempt to start over and find happiness and fulfillment. She adores her new city and makes a new friend in Connie, an old acquaintance from back home. Her new life plan soon begins to crumble as she struggles to find a job and a better place to live than the shabby motel that she temporarily considers home. After falling back into the same destructive pattern with men, she realizes that she can't outrun her problems and faces the painful truth about herself. With the help of Connie, Pastor Owens and an unexpected suitor, Simone discovers the key to freeing her heart and the true meaning of love.
