Creatura brings together stunning wildlife photography and insightful storytelling to showcase 50 of Australia's quirkiest inhabitants. Meet creatures so peculiar they feel almost impossible: the tiny but ferocious ningaui , which is said to eat its entire body weight in insects each night; the peacock mantis shrimp , whose club-like claws move with the force of a bullet; or Victoria’s riflebird , an extravagant, fearless, little bird that performs one of the most mesmerising mating dances in the natural world. From bright blue bees to furry little squat lobsters and all manner of hot-headed marsupials, the skies and the seas and everything in-between are full of strange critters – you just have to know where to look. A perfect companion for wildlife enthusiasts, armchair naturalists, and anyone who loves learning about the marvellous peculiarities of the natural world.
