When I let go of my fairytale mentality about love, I found so much more than what I was looking for. For most of my life, I believed I could never be happy apart from a relationship. Ironically, this mentality was the source of my discontentment. My life changed after God confronted me about my behavior. He helped me to come to grips with my inner demons and taught me new ways to cope. I'm free from the destructive pattern of using relationships as pain management for my soul. In this book, I share my journey to freedom. It was a long journey that led to an awakening that revolutionized my life. I've found the ultimate satisfaction. If you are looking for happiness in romantic relationships, and you still haven't found it, is it possible that you are looking in the wrong place? Marcia Washington is a former resident of the Henry Horner Homes public housing project. Her passion is education. She enjoys teaching in Adult Education programs and alternative high school settings. Marcia has earned degrees from Roosevelt University and Concordia University Chicago, and is recognized by the Illinois College Community Board as an ABE/ASE Mathematics Master Teacher. Her hobbies include crocheting, reading, journaling, cooking/baking, roller skating, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with friends and family. Marcia is also a newly ordained elder at Alpha & Omega M.B. Church in Chicago, where she oversees Christian Education and teaches in various capacities, including Sunday School, Women's Ministry, Orientation, and Teacher Training. Her life is a testimony that your beginnings do not determine your destiny.
