In this unit, students will have the opportunity to examine the popular world of music. In the course of the unit, students learn about the general structure of a song, rhyme, melody, and rhythm. They explore the importance of creating "hooks" and developing effective creative thinkingskills. Students also examine popular authentic songs and their origins. Final Task: Students create a music video. The TRB is organized into 8 to 10 "lessons". Each lesson is broken down into three phases: Pre-Activity, Activity, Post-Activity. The TRB contains methodology, language, content and outcomes summary charts, and comprehensive lesson plans swritten by practicing teachers. Also includes assessment andevaluation with reproducible rubrics, checklists and worksheets, as well as additional activities (in reproducible master format).
