Cold in So Many Ways is a collection of nonfiction stories about a little girl growing up in Alaska before it became a state and as an adult trying to find her way. From the first story about a five-year-old's treacherous journey to Alaska, to the final story describing events that convinced her that being human is more than just a physical experience, the reader joins her as she grows up in Alaska during times filled with uncertainty, dysfunctional relationships, and sometimes violence.
