Chico, a rescued longhorn dogie, discovers the good life along the banks of the Frio River in Texas. He is content to stay close to home, his beloved Sophia, and the wild peppers that delight his palate. But Chico's life turns upside down when cowboys force him to join a herd of cattle being driven to Wyoming. What is a homesick steer to do when he misses his pampered life and his attempts to escape fail? Chico, who would move heaven and earth to reunite with Will, Sophia, and his life on the Frio, hoofs it south despite the perils along the way.
