A guest is dead in Room 4. The door was locked. And everyone at Seabreeze Inn has something to hide.
When Lila Bennett left her high-pressure city career behind to run a charming coastal bed and breakfast, she expected difficult guests, late breakfasts, and the occasional plumbing disaster. She did not expect to find Harold Caldwell very much dead in the inn's most infamous room.
At first, it looks like a tragic accident. Maybe natural causes. Maybe the curse of unlucky Room 4, if you listen to the town gossips of Driftwood Cove.
But Lila notices details other people miss.
A window left open. A missing notebook. A guest who lies too smoothly. A midnight visitor caught on camera. And four strangers under her roof, each with a secret connection to the dead man.
There's Marcus Hale, the watchful writer who asks too many questions. Vanessa Price, the polished wellness entrepreneur with a past she would rather rebrand. Judge Penrose, whose old decisions may not be as clean as they once seemed. And quiet Eleanor Bishop, who knows far more than she's saying.
As the tide pulls back, secrets begin washing ashore. Caldwell wasn't on holiday. He came to Seabreeze Inn to confront the people who ruined him.
Now one of them has silenced him for good.
With her business, reputation, and possibly her life on the line, Lila must turn amateur sleuth before the killer checks out unnoticed. Because at Seabreeze Inn, secrets may check in…
…but not everyone checks out.
Checkout Time is Murder is a witty coastal cosy mystery packed with suspicious guests, small-town gossip, hidden motives, and an innkeeper sleuth who refuses to let murder ruin breakfast.
