In the gritty streets of Charlotte, North Carolina, young guitarist Robert "Bobby Trip" Tripowsky is fighting ghosts he thought he'd buried. Music is the only thing that's ever made sense — and the only thing that might save him.
When The Music Box opens as a haven for at‑risk youth, Bobby finds more than a place to play. He finds purpose. He finds family. Then later he finds Jilissa Monroe — a fierce, determined singer with scars of her own. Alongside Andy and Phillip Timmins — a married duo whose partnership anchors the band — they form Disavowed, a group built on raw talent, stubborn hope, and the belief that music can rewrite the past.
But the climb to fame is anything but clean. Their early victories give way to legal battles, predatory industry players, and a rising tide of harassment that threatens to tear them apart. As tragedy strikes and pressure mounts, Bobby and Jilissa must decide what — and who — they're willing to fight for.
Failure's Legacy is a gripping story of trauma, recovery, and the courage it takes to chase a dream that keeps slipping out of reach. It's about the families we build, the music that carries us, and the strength it takes not just to rise — but to rise again.
