Catherine's world has fallen apart in days. Her Amish husband is an oddity, he doesn't want children. So when Catherine announces that she's pregnant, a violent argument ensues. Her husband storms out of the home and doesn't return...he's killed in a tragic accident...but an unexpected romance comes in the form of a handsome fireman who arrives on scene...The fireman has lost his own pregnant wife in a tragedy years earlier and sees some kind of kinship in the young Amish woman.
