Cast Thy Nets is a reflective Catholic work that invites readers to rediscover discipleship in the ordinary circumstances of daily life. Drawing from Sacred Scripture, the living tradition of the Church, and personal experience, Eric Stengel presents a series of meditations rooted in the risen Christ's encounter with the weary disciples on the shore of the Sea of Tiberias.
The Lord's simple command to cast the net once more becomes a guiding image throughout the book. It speaks to perseverance after failure, trust renewed through obedience, and the quiet fidelity required of Christian life in family, work, suffering, prayer, and vocation. Discipleship is revealed not as an achievement of the perfect, but as a continual response of those willing to begin again.
Written with clarity and reverence, Cast Thy Nets serves as a companion for Catholics seeking spiritual renewal, those returning to the faith, and readers desiring a deeper integration of faith into everyday life. It offers encouragement to trust the Lord's presence in hidden places and to respond with hope, even when the nets feel empty.
