"Experience triumphs theory every time. It is one thing to know of a certain subject on paper; it is another to experience it in sharp pain and throbbing ache. Lilian opens her heart and life as she relates the harrowing journey that she underwent. Through the darkest moments of life, she found that her Lord Jesus Christ was always present and comforting. Faith stabilizes the emotions and feelings. "If you pursue why Lilian added the bronze serpent part to her experience and the title of the book, you will be rewarded with an interesting parallelism where she found that God's promises always hold true like in the days of Moses and likewise in her own narrative. All the way climaxing in the saving act of her Lord and Saviour: 'Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life' (John 3:14-15). "Letting God take center stage remains uppermost in mind through all of what cancer throws at her. His faithfulness is like an ever-flowing stream, a powerful encouragement for the reader who looks past the ordeal and seeks divine meaning through it all."
